Shake Down Sails

Have you recently purchased a sailing vessel?

Did you have the boat surveyed? Get a good sea trial?
STILL concerned about taking her out?
Looking for an experienced sailor to help assess her strengths and weaknesses? To help you plan to remedy those weaknesses?
Let's talk!

Sail2Learn's Steve Bonham has experience in conducting sea trials and in doing boat deliveries where vessel weaknesses were discovered (that the surveyor missed!)... some of them fairly dangerous (such as coroded/fractured chain and deck plates, soft deck areas, compromised clevis pins and/or shackles, faulty blocks and cleats, dead bilge pumps, reefing points in sails but NO reefing running rigging, inadequate anchoring tackle, missing required safety gear, and more!). He has also refitted a dozen daysailers and small (22-34') coastal cruisers.

We'll find a good weather date, draw up a float plan, conduct; a walkaround inspection, a USCG safety check, and -
if conditions of vessel and weather cooperate - and sailor(s) basic skill/knowledge base adequate - take an in-depth sea trial assessing both boat and sailor essentails. Then plan for training and/or refitting solutions.
